Jogged for a solid 20 minutes

In my 5k session today.

Woooo! Longest time so far!

My ankles were killing me for some reason today so I was going mega slowly, but it's still nice to know that I can. Only did 4.87km in 50 minutes, but I had something like 13 minutes of stretching in the session too.

I was jogging/running for a total of 35 minutes out of the 50 minute session, so I've got some faith that in a week or two I'll be able to jog/run for an hour or just under. Exciting.

I was really debating on whether or not to go today and I'm glad I did. My dad encouraged me since he went out for a walk anyway. Although I do wish I had time for a nap...

Now to get ready to party for New Year's Eve!

I've lost track of the days but I'm pretty sure it's the weekend...

So, we went to see Book of Mormon on Saturday night.

It was frigging awesome.

Like, seriously.

I was really apprehensive about going after reading some really terrible reviews about it (especially since it was quite expensive!) but it was really good.

Excellent production, brilliant material and an all round good show.

Definitely recommend seeing it.

My dad & I went on a 5 mile walk today, which was nice. Walking 3 miles seemed super far even though it goes so quickly when I'm doing 5k training sessions and go just over 3 miles. 5 miles seemed suuuuper long and it took 2 hours walking.

I have no idea how I'm ever going to run 5, 10, 15 miles! It seems ridiculous!

After 5 miles of walking my thighs did hurt a bit (may have been the run up the steepest godforsaken hill I've seen in the woods while not wearing shoes designed for walking, let alone running...)

Then we went out for dinner and it was delicious.

Christmas & Boxing Day 2013

It went as quickly as it came around, but it was absolutely lovely.

I'm still enjoying time off with my family and we're spending our evenings playing games and drinking, it's glorious. We played a 4.5 hour game of Risk last night. Yeah.

I did a 4.56 km run this afternoon and then had a candelit bubble bath, that was also glorious.

I'm really enjoying not being at work (although I do have a sneaky check on my laptop to see if there is anything that needs to be done urgently) and I feel very relaxed!

I have a ton of pictures, so this will be a very long picture post. Enjoy (if you manage to get to the end!)

Christmas day run - DONE

Damn right.

Got up at 6.45, prepared the turkey and put it in the oven, then got dressed to run.

Winner.

It waa only 4.41 km, though, and the last one I did was only 4.45 (didn't blog about it because I forgot and I'm lazy).

My last run was 30s/km slower than the one before (boo) and this one was even slower - another 25s/km!

This was partly because I didnt bring any water with me so didn't want to run too hard and partly because there were quite a few big dogs in the park and Merlin is a wimp, so I had to stop a few times to make sure he was okay.

Oh well, at least I got out, that's the main thing!

Here are a few photos from the Christmas party for work:

I love hotel bath robes...

When I woke up that morning I was still drunk
But then the hangover hit and I wanted the world to end

That's all for now, photos of today to follow at some point.

I've composed this while in the bath so now I'm going to dry off, change into a onesie, make some breakfast (maybe with champagne...), cook more and enjoy the festivities.

Have a great Christmas, my very few readers!!
